HDF/TERT164

hTERT immortalized human skin fibroblast cell line

The cells are characterized by unlimited growth while maintaining expression of cell type specific markers and functions such as:

  • Typical fibroblastoid morphology
  • Expression of typical mesenchymal marker vimentin
  • Response to TGFß treatment by induction of Col1A1 expression

Therefore, these cells are valuable for setting up relevant and standardizable in vitro tests and for gene editing studies using e.g. the CRISPR/Cas9 system when primary like characteristics are of importance.
